Let’s Talk About Me

Matthew Balthrop is a Creative Director and Producer within the Northern Virginia/Washington DC Metro area. He brings considerable professional and technical experience to a wide range of disciplines within Broadcast, including internal corporate communications, advertising, long form programming, brand films, and new media. He has worked with a number of different clients and businesses, including Intel, Snap On, Aveeno, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, the National Institutes of Health, and Cox Communications, among others.

Matthew has worked with these different clients to develop internal and external facing communications. He has worked as a director, producer, and editor to create and guide projects from concept to completion for clients such as AOL, the Urban Land Institute, Verizon, Berlex, and Comcast.  He has won a total of seven Telly awards, four for his commercial productions, one for an internal communication film, and two for viral web videos.  He has also won a Thoth award for his involvement in the Aveeno Active Naturals Campaign, producing the “Fountain of Youth” video.

Matthew is involved in production outside of the office as the creator and Executive Director of an independent production group, g14productions, in the Northern VA area. His work in this group has won national awards for their comedic short films, in addition to several showcases and screenings around the country. Their dramatic fiction work, Reservation, has been screened worldwide and has begun to redefine new media sponsor partnerships.

Matthew innovates within the new media space through his work in g14media; creating low-cost, effective, niche audience marketing and short films designed and developed for online consumption.
